The compass symbolism has sailed the seas of culture for centuries. Compasses have helped early navigators find their way in the sea, enabling them to discover new territories. The word comes from the Latin words com (together) & passus (pace or step) which when combined means ‘step together’ or ‘journey together’. The Compass is a symbol of guidance and direction.

The Uranus collection is inspired by the Greek word Uranos, which means sky. Uranus, in Greek mythology was the primordial god of the sky and heaven. According to Hesiod’s Theogony, Gaea (Earth), emerging from primeval Chaos, produced Uranus, the Mountains, and the Sea. The Greeks imagined the sky as a solid dome of brass, decorated with stars, whose edges descended to rest upon the outermost limits of the flat earth. Uranus was the literal sky, just as his consort Gaia was the earth. The collection features pieces inspired by the sky, the galaxies, the moon and the sun.
