Throughout the history of human kind, people have admired and cherished precious stones, these ever so prized treasures given to us by Mother Earth. Today in some cornerns of the world, these gems continue to be mined just as they were by our ancestors thousands of years ago. Maria’s goal is to tell the stories of these places and the people who live there, mining for the stones using age-old techniques that have a minimal impact on the environment and on human life. These communities, mine the land in a way that respects ethical and ecological values using methods that are not the source of any conflict!
